“Algebra I–II, SAT Math (700+ scorers), grades 6–12” tells a parent everything in one line. Name every subject and the exact levels you teach — this is the first filter for tutoring work.

Show student progress with real numbers
Grade improvements, score gains, and exam pass rates from your actual students are the strongest currency a tutor has. “Raised 12 students an average of one full letter grade in a semester” beats any paragraph about passion.

Name your formats
One-on-one, small group, online, in-home — say which you do. Agencies and platforms match tutors to formats, and parents search by them. List your tools too (Zoom, whiteboard apps, shared docs).

Credentials go near the top
Degrees, teaching certificates, and test scores of your own (your SAT/GRE if strong) belong high on the page. For parents choosing between strangers, credentials are the trust shortcut.

Tutor resume questions
Should a tutoring resume be one page?
Yes for most tutors. One page forces your subjects, results, and credentials to the front — everything a parent or agency needs. Add a second page only with many years of agency or center experience.
How do I list private clients without naming them?
Describe them anonymously: “Private SAT math tutor, 15 students, grades 10–12.” Never name minors or families — describe the work and the outcomes.
Do online tutors need a different resume?
Mostly the same, with your online setup explicit: platforms used, whiteboard and scheduling tools, and comfort with remote sessions. Agencies hiring remote tutors screen for this.
